FY2014: Heroin Death Increase, New Disease and More Homeless Veterans

In October of last year, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that heroin deaths have doubled from a 2010 study compared to a 2012 study taken from state health departments mortality files for the period 2008-2012. The Northeast (211.2%) and Southern (180.9%) states had the largest amount of overdose deaths.
On December 24th, CDC reported the discovery of a new virus that caused the death of a Kansas farmer back in June to possibly be tick-borne. The symptoms are fever, low red and white blood cell count, elevated liver enzymes, and loss of appetite. It has been determined that the virus has never been seen before in the Western hemisphere, the new virus coming from the orthomyxovirus family found in Eastern Europe, Africa, and Asia.
While human trafficking across the US/Mexican border has been taken over by the drug cartel and who is responsible for the increase in underage illegal migrants, 90% of drug trafficking enters US from Mexico who supplies mostly marijuana and methamphetamine also smuggles heroin. A DEA report released for 2013 reveals that both heroin and cocaine are primarily produced in Mexico. Recent rate of heroin increasing is because it is cheaper than prescription painkillers that are smuggled via the Mexican cartel. The practice of lacing heroin with fentanyl appears to be behind the increased deaths caused by heroin.
The federal government, by not securing our border and encouraging illegal immigration through political policy and non-enforcement of immigration laws is a major contribution towards illegal drug trafficking and spread of third-world country diseases. But you will not hear or read about it from mainstream media.
The Governor of Michigan, Rick Snyder, just signed legislation that will is a program pilot that will drug test welfare recipients - if they are using illegal drugs, they will be referred to treatment program.  Those who refuse will loose welfare benefits for six months.
Meanwhile Planned Parenthood reported that 327,653 cases of abortion were reported in FY 2014. That means in 2014, 37 abortions occurred every hour. Planned Parenthood received $528.4 million from government grants and reimbursement which equals to 41% of its revenue. In 2014, abortions increased by 487 compared to 2013. The IRS Form 990 for 2013 revealed that Planned Parenthood President, Cecile Richards, received a base compensation of $396,138 and including retirement funds and other benefits, Richards total compensation was $492,200.
Taxpayer funding increases for domestic programs such as this as well as an increase in foreign aid and funding of “rebels” in Islamic nations while veterans are denied and cheated out of benefits due to cutting funds and congressional VA administration rules like subtracting medical benefits from military retirement, severance and compensation checks. Homeless and at-risk of being homeless have doubled among veterans since 2012.
The New York Times reported in 2013 that volunteers for military service has been in decline. The Pentagon reported that in early 2014 that it plans to shrink the US Army in its 2015 budget. In2012, the Pentagon began a reduction of US military personnel stationed in Europe. That will bring US Armed Forces strength as low as it was before World War II.
Yet, the $1.1 trillion budget passed before Christmas break in Congress shows an increase for US Armed Forces budgeting and foreign aid.
